VARA PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

To be included on the VARA Calendar please fill out the VARA Program Membership Form and return it to the VARA Office by September 1.

Please include a roster of your Coaching Staff with phone #'s, E-mail addresses and an athlete roster (IF POSSIBLE) with date of birth and age groups. If your staff and roster are not complete when you mail this form in with club payment please send a roster by Nov. 1 for academies and Jan.1 for clubs. Please include a list of athletes that have left your program or school and new athletes that have come from out of state.

PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP ADVANTAGES:

1. Member programs will receive the VARA Calendar, including VARA rules, schedule of events, club directory and media contacts.
2. Member programs will be included in the Club Directory.
3. Member programs will receive on Dec 1 and Jan 15, a VARA master list for checking your program for VARA membership and confirming VARA membership race entries.
4. Member programs will receive updated information on USSA and VARA rule changes and additions.
5. Member programs will be granted representation and one counted vote at VARA Competition Committee Meetings. A club must be a registered VARA Program Member to receive a vote at the VACC meetings . The club representative must be a VARA member as well.

WHO SHOULD JOIN VARA and WHY?

1. All competitors must join VARA. It is a USSA Eastern Regional Rule that competitors be members in good standing with their state association in order to be eligible for the following state association programs: qualifying series for states, regional projects and Eastern cups, quota based invitational and Eastern region events, state teams, Junior Olympics, scored series and state awards.
2. Coaches must join VARA to receive lift tickets at Vermont events.
3. Joining VARA also supports the goals of VARA ... to keep ski racing 1st in Vermont ... and Vermont ski racers 1st in the world.
4. Coaches and athletes must have VARA cards available at races. Showing your card at registration will insure your entry into the race and lift tickets for coaches.
5. Parents should join VARA to assist in supporting Vermont ski racers.
6. VT Alpine Officials should join VARA if planning on officiating in Vermont.

* Please include a roster of your Staff and an athlete roster!! Coaches roster should include class coached, phone number with extension and e-mail address. Please update your rosters, both coaches and athlete as the season progresses.

***Please notify the VARA office of New Vermont Athletes that are now in your program that were competing in another state the previous year. This will insure their inclusion in early season selections and quotas. Please include a list of athletes that have moved on to another state or school.
