VARA Race Fact Sheet

1. Membership
1. All competitors, whether racing FIS, USSA or VARA events, MUST be a member of a state association. Please refer to the Comp Guide Eastern Regional Section.
2. To Race, all competitors must have a VARA membership card and a USSA card.
3. To get on the hill, all coaches must show a VARA card and USSA card.
4. The race may be in jeopardy if a racer without USSA and VARA membership is on the start list or on the results.
5. J3's MUST have VARA membership and a USSA competitors license if they are racing in the ladder that leads to a regional championship, JO’s.
6. J4-J6 need a VARA membership and USSA Youth license for competitions.


2. Race
1. Any race used for qualifying at the J3/J4 level that is not USSA sanctioned cannot be used for selection to States or Junior Olympics or J4 regional projects. In other words, if you are running J3/J4 events that will be used in the qualification process for USSA events the race MUST be Sanctioned.
2. It is recommended that J4-J6 races are sanctioned with USSA.
3. All Senior, J1, J2, J3 Vermont race sites, Vermont Eastern Cup Sites, State Championships J1-J4, Vermont Junior Olympic Sites and Vermont sites hosting the J1, J2, J3 Finals are responsible for submitting and paying VARA HEAD TAX.


3. Results
• Race organizers for all VARA events need to fax/e-mail official results to:
• VARA Office by 5pm the day of the race
  (802) 226 - 7117 (fax) or results@vara.org or post them yourself. (preferrred)
• Stowe Reporter by 5pm the day of the race
  (802) 253 - 5132 (fax) or stowerep@sover.net (preferred)
• USSA Eastern Office by 5pm the day of the race at (802) 747-3339
• For USSA and VARA events, Race Organizers will also need to send to the VARA Office:
• M/W 1st Run Start List and 2nd Run Start List
• M/W Official Results
• Penalty Calculations Report
• TD Report
• Head Tax Accounting Sheet With Check
• List of waived athletes, VARA Team Members in race
