Write down the BIB# and TIME OF DAY (HH MM HH) as the racer starts/finishes. |

| Begin the day with a start list - this is it's primary use for you. |
| look on the electronic score board for Bib # Place # |
| listen to the announcements - Usually 2 or 3 racers behind current racer |
| ask the finish referee. |
| If you miss something, make a note and check with Chief later. |
| At the end of the race, a random sample of your times will be compared to the electronic times. |
| This will check both you and the electronic clocks. |
| Your data may supercede the electronic if an appeal calls for it. |
| Occasionally, the computer (or its operator) makes a mistake and relies on your notes to fix it. |
| If you change the person running the hand clock |
| make a note on the "START / FINISH TIMER RECORDING FORM". |
| At the end of the run take your sheets to the timing room, as quickly as is safe. |
