Sources for Photography & Video
Northern Vermont
Concentrating on the Northern races is Curran Photography. He has on-line viewbook and order forms easily accessed.
Website: Curran Photography.
Also up north is Kevin Broderick. He's taken photos of NVC races hosted at Bolton and plans on shooting the Town Meeting Day race.
Website: Kevin Broderick.
Still another photographer up north is our very own Alan Kirkpatrick.
"Along with the NVC J4 scoring I now have a web site with race photos.
I'm focusing primarily on the Division 1 college group, but am also shooting a few other USSA/FIS races. So far I'm only going to races where I can watch my kids, and they are alI J2 & older. "

Nick Goldsmith is the official photographer from Suicide Six. Nick can be found on the web at Nick Goldsmith Photography
We received this email (edited) from Clay Britch. We are a professional photography company and we'd to provide VARA members with the same professional photos that we provide to Riderhill MX Park in Derby Vermont and Canaan MX Park in Canaan New Hampshire among others. We have internet preview and purchase capabilities and can produce 5x7, 8x10, & wallets that can be taken home that day!

We received another email from Karen Bobotas ...
I am a sports photographer based in Gilford, NH. My photos include ski racing of Eastern J1/J2 athletes and FIS races. Also I will be shooting J3-6’s at various events throughout the season as well as some high school events. Photos are posted online at www.kbobotas.lifepics.com. .
At the Killington ski area, long-time official photographer Reflections of Killington was, for some reason, dumped rather precipitiously this past year. The new company is named "Sharpshooter Photography." I found some of their photos ~ category: racing; event: Killington Triathlon ~ at the
SeeMeSmile website.
They watermark their on-line images and the quality doesn't look all that great, but they're the official photogs. Hope they got a good one of you.
Southern Vermont
In the southern part of the state, mostly at Stratton, the professional photo guys are
SkiPhoto.com - they have web access and on-line ordering just like Curran does. Check them out. (Actually, their true name is Mountainside Photo, but the website is skiphoto.com). These guys watermark their pictures, but they do a great job, nonetheless.

At Okemo, the professionals are Photos By Reflex.
"As of the beginning of this season, we finally have our web site completely operational for ordering and information. We have shot several races this year (2007)"

"On staff we have one of the best crews of photographers in the Northeast, and offer our prints and digital downloads at the least expensive prices of any Ski Area Photographer in Vermont! Shooting for us is: Dan Frost, Stu Currie, Nick Goldsmith and Ty Phelps. That's over 75 years of combined experience."

Bob Story was taking pictures recently at Bromley and at Berkshire East, Mass. He seems to move around, so I'd check his website occasionally and see what's there. His watermark is unobtrusive, too, so you can get a really good look at your picture.
Update: Mr. Story contacted us recently: "I also take photos of some southern Vt. races. I have a contract to cover USCSA college races, but when I have a free weekend I cover races at mountains where I am welcomed. I've been shooting skiing for over 20 years, mostly at Mount Snow. I am available to shoot club or sanctioned races and can print onsite or give AV shows at après ski parties."
The samples he sent along with this note are stunning. Well worth the visit to his website, if you ask us.

Do you know of any other sources, on-line of course, for photos of VARA (or NYSSEF, NHARA, MARA) racers and races? If so, give us a yell and tell us about it:
