Position: VARA Development and Education Manager

VARA is currently seeking a highly motivated, creative, innovative person who has exceptional multitasking abilities. This position requires initiative, energy, a love of ski racing, and a desire to educate athletes, coaches, and parents for the betterment of VARA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of ski racing, experience working with children, be able to work both independently and collaboratively, and have strong communication and presentation skills. Candidates must be a current member of USS and should have, or be willing to pursue, Level 200 or higher certifications. 

The VARA Development and Education Manager is a leadership position and will operate in alignment with VARA’s vision and mission. Responsibilities include but are not limited to,  outlining VARA’s youth development philosophy (U14 and under), coordinating and executing youth coach and club education, and organizing and leading athlete projects. The position is also responsible for managing youth educational communications for membership.

The VARA Development and Education Manager position reports directly to the Executive Director and must work with the Executive Director and other stakeholders, as a team, to promote the mission, values, and educational directives of the VARA organization.

Time Requirements:
The position draws an annual salary that reflects the fact that responsibilities vary throughout the year. For October to April, the VARA Development and Education Manager can expect to work at least 40 hours per week plus travel.  In May through September, the work hours are more flexible but should expect to work at least 20 hours per week.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
