MSA, a winter-term snowsport academy in southern Vermont, is seeking both, full-time and weekend alpine race coaches for the 2022-23 season. For over 40 years, MSA has been providing an elite ski racing experience with a strong focus on goal setting and athletic achievement, while instilling strong values in each of our student-athletes (U10 through U18.) Our program has strong partnerships with our home training venues at Mount Snow and the Mount Snow Training Center. MSA also operates an extensive summer and fall camp and conditioning program.

 

We are seeking Certified Coaches (USSS 100 or higher) who possess a strong technical background, former racers and strong skiers, effective coaching style and love working with kids. SNSC Job Postings:

 U16/U18 Full-Time Seasonal Coach
This coach will work with SNSC U16/U18 athletes and attend USS and FIS races during the season.  SNSC is a smaller but growing program that allows for hands on coaching and great ratios of staff to athletes.  SNSC has in recent season started a unique model for FIS athletes with affordable academy and program fees, that supports competitive athletes outside of a full boarding school structure. 

St. Michaels Alpine Racing Club Team Head Coach – Full-Time Seasonal
The St. Michaels Club team is for athletes who do not qualify to make the varsity team at St. Michael’s College, but wish to continue their ski racing career.  The team competes in USS and FIS races in the region as well as compete in regular season USCSA MacConnell Division races.  This is the third-year season of the SMC Club Team with two successful seasons of growth and of synergy with the varsity NCAA team and a fun team environment.  The coach will work closely with the St. Michaels Ski Team Coaching staff as well as the SNSC U16/U19 Coaching staff, therefore applicants should be great team players.

                                                                               Kimball Union Assistant Alpine Ski Coach
Kimball Union Academy, located in Meriden, NH, is seeking a highly qualified assistant alpine ski coach.   The primary mountains used for training is Sunapee and Whaleback. Candidates must possess racing and coaching experience at USSA and/or FIS level, 21 years old or older and able to drive KUA 14 passenger vans for training and competition. This coach will work with athletes racing in the NEPSAC prep school league and also with athletes racing in USSA U16 and U18 competition.   

Available to start the 2nd week of November and the season runs through mid-March.

Summary:

• The Youth Development Program Lead Coach will provide athletic instruction and implement an on-hill curriculum for our weekend alpine racing athletes, including but not limited to, weekend and holiday training as per the Bromley Outing Club’s seasonal program operating schedule, Friday training sessions, race support and parent/athlete communication, and other duties as assigned.

Supervision: The Youth Development Program Lead Coach reports directly to the Executive Director.

Mount Snow Training Center is looking to hire weekend alpine race coaches for the 2022-2023 season.  Candidates must possess racing and coaching experience at USSA 100 or higher.  Positions would be part time, seasonal employment.  Mid-November thru March.

MIDDLEBURY
Director Of Operations

The Middlebury Ski Club, located in Middlebury, VT, is looking to hire a new Director of Operations for the 2022-2023 season.  Since 1956 the MSC has taught thousands of young athletes the skills they need to become excellent skiers and ski racers, many of whom have gone on to become NCAA racers, Olympians and World Champions.  At the heart of the MSC is our children and the goal to help them fulfill their potential while also trying to keep skiing and ski racing as affordable as possible.  This is done through the immense support of a dedicated group of coaches, parents, The Middlebury Snow Bowl and our greater community.

 

This is a year-round, part-time position (15-20 hours/week) with the majority of the work between October and March.  Qualified applicants should have ski racing experience and need to be able to work well with children. Club Administrative Assistant Job Description Cochran’s Ski Club provides families with a supportive community dedicated to the affordable pursuit of alpine ski racing and a life-long love of skiing. Our racers range in age from 6-21, and participate in all levels of alpine racing, from home-hill fun races, to Northern Vermont Council races, high school racing, U.S. Ski & Snowboard scored races, and FIS races. Ski Club families are active participants, providing volunteer support for racing, training, and social activities. The Club is hiring an Administrative Assistant, a vital and valued member of the Ski Club community. The Club Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibility is to facilitate the operation of the Club to foster a safe, positive and fun environment for Club athletes and families. The ideal candidate will nurture and maintain the Cochran skiing philosophy, promote the enjoyment of skiing in and out of the racecourse and encourage the vitality of the Ski Club. Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others are essential.

The Administrative Assistant will report to and work with the Program Director and support the efforts of the Program Director and the Ski Club Board in the Duties described below. The position is envisioned to require approximately 5-15 hrs/week during the spring and early summer (April - June) and 20-40 hours per week over the remainder of the year. The arrangement of working hours each day is generally flexible with the exception of evening and weekend work required specific to meetings, activities, and events. With the exception of in person meetings and events, the work will be remote.

Magic Mountain Seeking Enthusiastic Tactical Race Coach 

The Magic Mountain Alpine Club is seeking a race coach with experience of tactical race skills and the ability to coach athletes to understand those tactics and how to train to develop needed technical skills for alpine racing at various age bracket VARA competitions U10 – U16. A tactical coach will be prepared to work with athletes of variable ages who have proven they are ready to train to that level. As a small club we strive to provide the best training for young athletes of all backgrounds and commitment levels.

Our mission is to foster a lifelong love of the sport through quality training, fun teamwork, good sportsmanship, and confidence building. We are guided by the USSA LTAD (Long Term Athletic Development) principles to provide age-appropriate training and competition. The program runs Saturday and Sundays as well as winter school vacation dates. USSA membership, Safe Sport Certification and working towards Level 100 certification will be required to coach athletes at 2023 VARA competitions. SAINT MICHAEL’S COLLEGE ASSISTANT COACH

 

Saint Michael’s College is inviting applications for the Alpine Skiing Assistant Coach position. The Assistant Coach assists in all aspects of training and racing and ensures that a safe environment is created for players on the team. This role is responsible for recruiting athletes, planning fundraising and educational programs, and managing the budget for meals on trips. Located in the greater Burlington, Vermont area, Saint Michael's is a NCAA Division II institution (Northeast-10 Conference) and sponsors 21 varsity sports. Additional program information can be found at www.smcathletics.com.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Helps plan and conduct training
Coaches team during training and racing

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • College playing and/or assistant coaching experience is desired
  • Certification in Basic First Aid renewed every three years, and CPR renewed annually required
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license

  • Must hold and maintain a good driving record and maintain a certified van driver status for the College
