Welcome, VARA Alpine Official!
We are glad you are here! Being part of the VARA Alpine Officials community is both exciting and rewarding. As you invest your time, knowledge, and energy in VARA races, you play an important role in creating a safe, fair, and positive environment for every athlete. Your understanding and application of race-day procedures, policies, and rules help ensure that our competitions are conducted with integrity, consistency, and respect. Whether you are working at the start, finish, timing, jury, or anywhere in between, your role is an important part of making race day successful and allowing our athletes to compete at their highest level. USS SAFE SPORT:
Members turning 18 must complete the background screening registration process shortly after their birthday. Members have a 45-day grace period from their birthday to receive a clear (green-light) determination on their screening.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: If the member does not complete the background screening by that date, the member will be placed on hold pending the member meeting the screening criteria. The athlete will not appear on any points list while on pending status.
If allowed to start in an event through a mistake on site, the result will be marked Not Permitted to Start (NPS), and they will not get any point credit for that result. That result credit will not be given back after requirements are completed.
